Christmas celebrated across Pakistan

KARACHI: Christians across the world, including Pakistan celebrated the festival of Christmas with full religious fervor on Tuesday.

Security around the churches and other places was beefed up to avoid any untoward incident. Police contingents and Rangers personnel were deployed at various points to protect churchgoers.

The Christian brethren decorated their homes and worship places with illuminations and other stuff. Residential colonies were also decorated with twinkling lights and stars, baubles such as bells, pine cones, apples, candies, tinsel and balloons bedecked trees, streets, houses and churches. Special Christmas trees were prepared to celebrate the occasion.

President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan in their separate messages extended warmest greetings to Christian brethren in Pakistan on the joyous occasion of Christmas. They applauded the efforts of the Christian community for the socioeconomic development of the country.

The prime minister in a tweet said: “Wishing all our Christian citizens a happy and peaceful Christmas.”
